Welcome to Movietyme - we hope to provide you with the best online shopping
experience possible.
This site uses SSL (secure Sockets Layer) software, an industry standard
that is amongst the best software available for secure commerce
transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information so that it cannot
be read as it travels across the internet.
One great new feature that we are especially proud of (which we believe to
be unique) is the Profile section of your account area. This acts as a sort
of a mini "Filofax" that allows you to keep different information, to use
when making purchases. Simply select the profile you wish to use when making
a particular purchase (or create a new one) and this will be used for that
particular order.
Also, another unique feature is a personal search engine for each and every
customer which will allow you to find particular information about an order.
Search by Ordered Title, Order Number or search by Order Date, and you will
receive results based on your search paramaters.
All DVDs sold on this site are Region 1/NTSC as standard unless stated
otherwise. Customers will require a suitable DVD player and TV to be able to
play them.
Region coding is a way divised by the major studios to stop people watching
DVDs outside of their particular 'region'. If you own a modified DVD player,
you may be able to play DVDs from these Regions. If your are unsure if your
DVD player is Multi-Region and RCE friendly, please contact your place of
purchase to be advised. It is not illegal to watch or own DVDs from other
countries.
Region coding guide:
Region 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories
Region 2: Japan, Europe (including UK), South Africa, and Middle East
(including Egypt)
Region 3: Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)
Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico,
South America, and the Caribbean
Region 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa,
North Korea, and Mongolia
Region 6: China
Region 7: Reserved
Region 8: Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)
-Please note that if you are buying a Region 2 DVD, you will still need to
know if your TV/DVD system is compatable, as some Region 2 DVDs are NTSC or
SECAM TV format as opposed to PAL (UK).
Countries using the PAL (Phase Alternating Line) TV Format include: United
Kingdom, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, South Africa, Singapore, Portugal,
Norway, New Zealand, Malta, Italy, Ireland, India, Hong Kong, Holland,
Gibraltar, Denmark, Brazil, Belgium, Austria, Australia.
Countries using the NTSC (National Television System Committee) TV Format
include: United States, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Barbados, Bahamas,
Antigua.
Countries using the SECAM (Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential
Color with Memory) TV Format include: France, Greece, Monaco, Morocco,
Hungary, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tunisia, Mauritius.
PLEASE NOTE: All sales are final - once a DVD has been opened we can only
accept it back if it is proven to be faulty.
We cannot specify if a title contains RCE (Regional Coding Enhancement -
which is a digital enhancement added to some Warner Bros and Columbia DVDs
to stop region 1 (R1) DVDs from playing on Region-free DVD players. You need
to check to see if your player is RCE 'friendly')
), and any purchases of products that are marked uncut are at the customers
discretion. We cannot specify if a title is cut or uncut.
By placing an order with us you agree to our Terms and Conditions of
trade.
To shop on this website, at some point you will need to create an account.
You can either do this immediately or during the checkout process of the
first order you place. Simply follow the online guide, filling in the
relevant forms as you go. You can then check order status and manage your
orders from within your account.
If you wish to purchase a product: You will see that some buy buttons have
the USA flag, some have the Canadian flag, and some have a generic look.
Quite simply, if the product has a USA flag - it is from the USA, if a
product has a Canadian flag - it is from Canada, and if a product has a
generic look, the point of supply is not of particular importance. Click the
buy button of the product you wish to buy, the product will be added to the
shopping cart in the right hand column of the screen. You can either
continue your shopping experience or simply click the the Cart/Check link in
the shopping cart box to be taken through the purchase process. You will be
required to click a box that says you accept Movietyme terms and conditions,
all purchases are subject to our terms and conditions.
Please note: There are fewer DVD suppliers in Canada, and therefore Canadian
DVD's are subject to greater delays. Products sourced from the USA are
generally shipped quicker, and do not have bi-lingual covers (covers with
both English and French writing which some people consider unsightly).
On the home page of the site you will see boxes with category headers, these
boxes will feature highlights of products that are now either available to
buy from us, or are future releases that you can pre-order (credit cards
will only be billed when a product is ready to ship). On the top bar of each
box either on the right hand side on larger category boxes or in the middle
of smaller ones, is a link that will take you to the home page of that
category where you will be able see many more products for that
category.
In the red bar at the top of the site, as you progress through the site you
will see links to the left that show you exectly where you are. A kind of
mini progress map that allows you to back-track if you wish. To the right of
the bar are three links, one for My Account, one for Cart Contents and one
for Checkout. These are pretty self explanitory, and take you to the areas
the say.
To the foot of the page you will see (again in the red bar) the date, a link
to the previous page you have viewed and a Return To Top link, which
basically takes you back to the top of the page you are viewing.
In the left hand blue column of the site we have several boxes with varing
functionality.
The first box is the Category box, and offers a quick way to navigate around
the site, or choose products of a particular category that may interest
you.
Beneath that we have the Quick Find facility which allows you to enter a
product name, or part of that name (typically known as a keyword), and you
will be furnished with the results. If you wish to search in a particular
category for more precise results - simply enter the name or keyword you are
looking for, and select the category from the drop-down menu below to
pinpoint the category you wish to search in.
Moving on to the next box we have the Studio selector. If you are
particularly fond of movies from a particular studio (eg Criterion), then
you can view the title from that partucular studio by simply selecting it
from the menu.
Then, in the next box we have the Advanced Search, where you can be very
specific about what you are searching for. Also with this box we have the
Actor/Director search. Which allows you to search for titles containing your
favourite actor or director. (Please note, to be able to furnish you with as
many purchase options as possible, you may find that certain titles
containing an actor or director you are looking for when you place a search
may not appear. If you know the title you are looking for, please enter it
into the main search facility at the top of this column. We will enedevour
to populate our database with the most current information possible.)
Below this box we have the A-Z search, if you select a letter, you will be
able to view the titles that start with this letter.
Then we have the Information box, which will outline any information
regarding: Shipping & Returns, Privacy Notice, Conditions of Use, Contact
Us.
If you cannot find a title, use the next box which contains a link to a a
page that you can fill in and send to us so we can follow up your enquiry.
Where possible we will put this product on the site if it is available and
falls within our business boundries.
